America, freedom, and Nazi, Germany

I'm going to go out on a limb here, and if I am not already considered a conspiracy theorist I soon will be.  As is always the case, I am held captive to the truth as revealed by the facts. So I guess here goes nothing, I will now introduce you to the Patriot Act and the destruction of freedom.  It will be helpful to note that in this I will be attempting to make connections between our destruction of liberty in America and what took place in Nazi, Germany.

I think it is proper to start at the beginning; in both our case and in the case of Germany.  We must understand that in order for the destruction of liberty, fear must first take hold.  When people are afraid they are willing to sacrifice their rights for security.  In the case of the U.S fear manifested itself in the form of the terrorists attacks on 9/11.  Before we go any further, let me make myself clear, I am not saying that the these terrorists attacks were in any way caused by the U.S.  I believe they were an act of jihad and a tragedy.  That being said, it is important to understand how the Federal gov't manipulated this event to push their agenda.  This fear allowed the President and Congress to take huge steps to destroying the freedom of Americans in the name of 'safety'.  This is exactly what happened in Germany.  On the night of february 27, 1933, the German Parliament building mysteriously caught fire and burned to the ground.  It is believed that the Nazis were behind this fire and used it to push their political agenda. "Those who are willing to sacrifice their freedom for security, deserve neither." Ben Franklin

Now that we understand the spur to this destruction of our liberty, we will look at what has been used to destroy it.  Soon after the 9/11 attacks, the Bush administration and Congress pushed through the Patriot Act.  The Act was finished at 3 a.m and was passed 8 hrs later; keep in mind this is document is hundreds of pages long and Congress should read through anything they pass.  We will now attempt to look through several liberties that the Patriot Act restricts or destroys.

The first and most obvious breech in freedom is the Patriot Act right to monitor any and all citizens through the use of wire tapping and email/internet survellience.  Under the Patriot Act the gov't can listen to your conversations and read what you are writing.  The gov't has the legal right to read what I am writing at this second. This should both scare and anger us.  Although the American people were told this power would only be used against terrorists, this is simply not the truth.  There are over a million people that are on the gov'ts watch list as 'possible domestic enemy combatants'.  Now maybe I am wrong but I highly doubt that there are over a million terrorists in our country.  This list includes those in the southern states registered as a member of either the Constitution party or the Libertarian party.  So the question becomes who is considered a terrorist?  We have the answer.  Under the Patriot Act anyone person that the president considers a domestic enemy combatant can be detained, without any trial.  These 'terrorists' are denied the Constitutional right of habeas corpus.  So basically in President Obama reads my blog and determines I am a domestic terrorist, I could be arrested and thrown in prison.  Almost anyone who makes a loud enough protest against the federal gov't or the Patriot Act, is put on the list.  When they fly their ticket is marked SSSS and they are a considered a security threat and subject to being taken aside and searched. Does this sound familiar?  It should, because this is Nazi Germany in the 30's and East Germany after the war.  In communist controlled East Germany, although only about 10% of the population was being watched, the fear of the possibility of being watched paralyzed an entire nation.  Next lets look at the Nazi connection.  Anyone who was a threat to the state was systematically removed and thrown in prison or worse.  Possibly more disconcerting is the ability to use these lists to perform mass arrests.  This is a common theme throughout history.  Have you ever wondered how Hitler rounded up the Jews so quickly?  It was because they were on his list, who knew who they were and where they were.  Che did the same thing in Chile.  When a gov't wants control they must first take out those who oppose them.  EXECUTIVE ORDER 11002 designates the Postmaster General to operate a national registration of all persons.

The next thing that is happening in our nation is the limiting of the first ammendant right of freedom of the press.  Under the Patriot and Espionage Acts, those who oppose the Federal gov't in the press have been arrested and silenced.  Anyone who disagrees with the gov't in the press is labeled as a tratior and some are imprisoned.  Private blogger Joshua Wolf was arrested and deatained for almost a year for not giving up his private tapes of a protest.  He was treated like a war criminal!  This is America! There are too many other examples.  Sound familiar?  Try the propoganda of the Nazis and Goebbels, and their book burnings.  A gov't must silence its critics in order to take over.  There is an act that has been passed that deams protest as terrorism. EXECUTIVE ORDER 10995 allows the government to seize and control the communication media.

Tertiary is the enhanced surveillance that has found its place in our country.  Surveillance cameras have been set up in large numbers all across our nation, under the guise of 'anti-terrorism'.  This is a favorite government ploy.  The government can literally see almost everything that is going on at any given time.  Think about it.  We all talk about how awesome Google is, but shouldn't this scare us?  Anyone can literally see and track you whenever they want.  There is a new feature on Google, that gives you the same options, but with a see-eye view.  The list goes on.  Any new cars has OnStar, which is advertised as a great service to 'protect the people'.  What isn't advertised is the fact that, even if you don't pay for the service,  OnStar can track where you are, how fast you're going, and can shut your car off whenever they want.  Scary stuff.  Even scarier is the new chip that is being developed, and is actually in circulation today.  It is a small tracking device that can be embedded in the skin.  It gives the gov't the ability to track you wherever you go.  This next quote comes from George Orwell's 1984.  What is often overlooked, is the fact that Orwell wrote this to describe what would happen in the Fabian Socialists took over.  They almost have. "Whether he went on with the diary, or whether he did not go on with it, made no difference. The Thought Police would get him just the same. He had committed— would still have committed, even if he had never set pen to paper— the essential crime that contained all others in itself. Thoughtcrime, they called it. Thoughtcrime was not a thing that could be concealed forever. You might dodge successfully for a while, even for years, but sooner or later they were bound to get you."

Finally, under the Consitition the gov't is not allowed to raise a police force, subject to its will.  The founders were fearful of any military force that was not subject to the will of the people.  We see this in the 4th ammendmant.  This is slowly being ripped away from us.  A special group called Blackwater has been used by the gov't to supress our nation.  They were originally used in Iraq, but more recently this private, gov't hired organization is now attempting to secure our nation.  Do some research and understand what this organization has done to limit our freedom.  Again sound familiar? Very similar to the SS of the Nazis.

This was all begun under Bush, but has been escalated by the current administration.  Just days ago Congressman Jesse Jackson called for Obama to usuro Congressional power to push his agenda.  In a time where freedom is quickly diminishing the only hope we have is to return whole-heartedly to the Constitution.   For more info on this subject go to americanfreedomcampaign.com

One last quote from 1984

  • Then the face of Big Brother faded away again and instead the three slogans of the Party stood out in bold capitals:
    WAR IS PEACE
    FREEDOM IS SLAVERY
    IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH
